Welcome to Celebrate Gymnastics
Gymnastics is my passion. I lived gymnastics as a child and I have brought this passion through to my adult life.
As a club we are not dreaming of producing Olympians, though that would be nice, but to give children the opportunity to discover and empower themselves through the sport of gymnastics.
When a gymnast walks into the gym each week it should be somewhere they feel safe, secure and able to express themselves through their gymnastics.
We aim to create a caring and supportive environment and group of people who are determined to see gymnasts develop and succeed happily.
There is so much more to coaching than providing children with the skills to perform moves and sequences, it is about ensuring that the time the child spends with us is used to develop their full potential in a way that makes them feel in control of their development, both within and without of the gym.
I hope that the environment will be holistic in that I want to ensure the wellbeing of all the staff as well as the children. Happy coaches make for happy gymnasts.
About Angela
I am a dedicated Mum and coach with a passion for children and gymnastics.
I have decided to follow my passion and open a gymnastics club, making the children the heart of the club. Everything about the club is carefully considered and is centred around, children, families and the community as a whole.
I want to ensure that Celebrate Gymnastics Club meets with the high standards that all of us, as parents, expect for our own children, and will strive to deliver this to every child at every session.
Our Philosophy
My deep held belief is that gymnastics is a fantastic way of helping children develop skills for life besides improving their physical health. They learn, self-belief, resilience, determination, to win graciously to accept failure but strive to be better.
Understanding each child is integral to how we work as coaches and our new coaches will be mentored by more experienced members of the team to ensure continuity of approach and application.
Qualifications, experiences of coaches
All of our coaches are handpicked to ensure that we are able to deliver to our philosophy.
Coaches are qualified in various disciplines including Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Acro and Tumble.
A requirement as a coach at Celebrate Gymnastics is being qualified to instruct disability gymnastics so all of the coaches have undertaken BG’s disability module.
All members of staff, irrespective of role hold a current DBS.
From gymnast to coach
We actively encourage our more mature gymnasts to become involved in coaching younger members of the club. This volunteering process can be used to assist in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
This provides an opportunity for young coaches to understand responsibility and the necessity of being able to communicate in various formats.
As a club we feel fundamentally that continual personal development is integral to maintaining an enthusiastic and motivated team of coaches. To that end we will always be happy to discuss appropriate training for any coaches seeking to develop their skills.
Celebrate policies
As a club we deliver a high quality provision. This is achieved by us undertaking to keep the welfare of your gymnasts at the forefront of our mind.
In return we ask that parents and gymnasts agree to a level of respect for their environment and coaches. This is facilitated by the signing of a code of conduct by parents, gymnasts and Celebrate Gymnastics Club.
We adhere to all British Gymnastics policies relating to Safeguarding, Health, Safety and Welfare Policy.
